\"Make Art Not War\" is a riff on the 90s protest art by Shepard Fairey, which is itself a tweak of the slogan \"make love not war.\" By swapping out Fairey's Art Nouveau character \"Marianne\" with a portrait of Crystal Silmi, my intent is to bring fresh relevance to his disruptive pop art.<\/p>

As one of the few visible raqs sharqi and fusion teachers of Palestinian heritage, Crystal continues to encourage everyone to join her in public and substantive support for the oppressed people of Palestine.<\/p>
